Stroke School (Levels 6-8)

Our Stroke School has been redesigned to become a larger part of the swimming program at Silverlake. Stroke School will be structured as a tool to advance students in our Learn-to-Swim Program and/or an introduction to competitive swimming. Stroke School will be for those swimmers who intend on learning advanced elements in stroke efficiency in all four strokes, but do not want to compete. This will include skills taught in the final stages of our Learn to Swim Program. A student in this group must have passed level 5 of Learn-to-Swim Program or have passed a proficiency test given by Site Supervisor, Sara Krull. This test includes completing 25 yards of freestyle with rotary breathing and backstroke. Once a child has completed Silverlake Starfish, they will be invited to join the Northern Kentucky Clippers Developmental Swim Team (DST). More information can be located at Clippers Swim Team.  Please call for more information.

Silverlake Starfish (Levels 9,10)

The focus of the Starfish is to build a swimmers strength and endurance in all four strokes using drills, multiple lengths, and on deck coaching. This group gives a swimmer the feeling of being on a swim team without competition. This allows a swimmer to build their confidence in swimming for an easy transition to a more competitive swim team such as the Northern Kentucky Clippers that finds their home here at Silverlake.
To be in Silverlake Starfish you must have completed Stroke School and Passed. Swimmer's who have passed will receive an informational card that must be turned in with registration. No registrations will be taken without this card.
Note: Swimmer's in this group are not permitted to be registered USA Swimmers.
Registration is during the same as every other session.
